Eric and I finally got the vlog up. It took three different takes, and lots and lots of time uploading. It's longer than I'd originally wanted (ending up at about 14 minutes), and I didn't even answer all the questions you guys asked. Thanks to everybody for all the great questions, and if you guys like this, we might try it again later.
P.S. This is the super awesome shirt I'm wearing in the video that you can't really see:
P. P. S. When Eric says, "Did they call him a question, and ask him Brad?" at the beginning, he meant to say, "Did they ask him a question, and call him Brad?" And that's really, really funny to me.
P. P. P. S. The reference to "Inside the Actor's Studio" doesn't make any sense because Eric had asked me ten questions from the show, but the video ran way too long, so we cut out the questions. So yep.
Well, good for me for getting through the whole 14 minutes! You two were cracking me up, and I definitely think you should do more Q/A vlogs if it was fun for you!
ReplyDeleteWhat was the third book you said you'd take on the island? I couldn't hear you at all on that one.
That was pretty cool, even if you didn't answer either one of my questions.
ReplyDeleteI have to disagree with the peanut butter and jelly question though. They belong together like Batman and Robin.
Both of you were awesome! Do this more often!! :)
ReplyDeletethat was totally awesome and u guys made me laugh. hope you do it again and soon.
ReplyDeleteOmg, Eric killed me. He is so monotone and it made everything he said so funny. "....now, the lighting round..." I died. When the question was about being anyone you wanted and he answered, "...I'd be a candle maker..." I laughed so hard I was literally hunched over. I really hope you guys do more of these.
ReplyDeletePff 14 min was nothing! You guys rock ;)
ReplyDeleteShirt <3
ReplyDeleteYes, the candle maker comment was priceless!!
ReplyDeleteGreat vlog :) Bring more!
ReplyDeleteI am with Meaghan what was the third book. I played it 7 times and still could not make it out.
ReplyDeleteGood choices on the questions.
you so need to do more vlogs.....like a monthly vlog. pretty please! you guys are so cute and you rock and the same time . . . which is hard to do.
ReplyDeleteAND you answered my question about the island and the books! THANKS!!!
ReplyDeleteVery cool. Eric comments were so deadpanningly funny ;-).
ReplyDeleteThanks.
I believe the 3 books Amanda chose to have if stranded on an island were:
ReplyDelete1. Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut
2. American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis
3. Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli
Enjoyed this. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI admire your patience to have a vlog. I hate editing movies. I took a whole class of it and hated every aspect of it.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant, please do it again! Maybe monthly ;)
ReplyDeleteCan I just say that I love you guys and how informal you are, lol. I actually see a bit of myself and my friend Addie in you guys, only our roles are reversed because I'm the writer and she's my loyal fag hag =)
ReplyDeleteShe writes too, but she's too stubborn to keep it up. I could totally see us doing a funny vlog like this someday too haha!!
Please make more!! =)
Thanks! That was fun!
ReplyDeleteI have only one problem because I'm not a native English speaker it was a little bit hard to understand :) not intelligible enough for me sometimes
You made me laugh - I hope you make it a regular feature :o)
ReplyDeleteYou two have WAY too much fun together! :)
ReplyDeleteHow do you get anything done?
Over 16,000 words in 12 hours?
ReplyDeleteWow. As utterly insane a number as that is, it's also a hell of a target to shoot for. Perhaps I'll block of some time during the next long weekend and give it the old college try.
I liked the rapidfire section at the end the best, but overall I enjoyed the Q&A segment and would love to see these, like, once a month? Once a quarter? Twice a year?
ReplyDeleteEric is a great example of why girls ♥ nerds!! He's awesome! And Mandy is super adorable! I cant wait for the next vlog... but one suggestion, look into the camera when ur answering questions! Thanks Eric for making Mandy do this!
ReplyDeleteI watched the whole thing, 14 minutes went by really fast. You both are so funny and I enjoyed watching this. I think you should do more of these.
ReplyDeleteThat was funny! I like Amanda's reponse to the question about jelly: "...Peanut butter and jelly don't go together, that's gross!" LOL. I also loved the informal atmosphere...Both of you were very cool. I want to buy "Switched" now, the sample at Smashwords.com is driving me crazy...I love your work!
ReplyDeleteThe 14 minutes did go by fast. Thanks for taking the time.
ReplyDeleteSo, you would date a pirate that doesn't shower? Hahahaha! Oh, good book idea, a ninja who dates a pirate.(kidding)
I wish I could write that fast. Thanks for posting this. It may have been awkward for you at times, but it was very informative for us. Cheers. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! I enjoyed this vlog. Great work! You guys are so cute. (Hilarious!!)
ReplyDeleteI'm in complete and total agreement about your Jim Henson wish. Excellent vlog!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are hilarious! I nearly fell out of my chair when Eric said "This anonymous person is very busy". ha ha I'm still laughing! If it was fun for you, than you should do it a few times a year. I enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it very much, thank you for your time doing this. I can see better who the great author of all the great books.
ReplyDeleteFabulous. Nice to finally see and hear you :)
ReplyDeleteGeorge Takei. Rock on. LOL....thanks for doing this, you guys are hilarious :)
ReplyDeleteI love the vlog Amanda. And your assistant Eric really cool.
ReplyDeleteI can't say that I was a fan of American Psycho. I read the book by Bret Easton Ellis I think in 1992 or so and thought it was disturbing to say the least.
I loved it. Hope to see more of these in the future!
ReplyDeleteAmanda,
ReplyDeleteHow do you create your characters? I am an aspiring writer and wondered if you have an tips on how to create characters and how to go about actually starting writing the book? (I know it requires writing, but how do you start it off so you can get it into a flow?).
Thanks
I loooved the vlog, Eric is hilarious. The both of you must have a lot of fun together.
ReplyDeleteVirtue is finally available for purchase on the Nook and I can't wait to read it, im sure it will be amazing since all your books are! Can't wait to read more from you.
Are you still going to do the Trylle omnibus???
You two are awesome! You have to do this once a month!! We <3 You guys!!
ReplyDeleteLoved it! This was really great, and thanks so much for answering my question about self-publishing! Great advice. :)
ReplyDeleteAre you doing this again? Where do we submit our questions?
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I see a video of you (and Eric!) since I started reading your blog a few months ago. You guys are awesome together. Your story is awe-inspiring, and you deserve every bit of your sucess and all that is to come. And Christian Bale. ;)
