With that in mind, here are three things about Hollowmen that I can share:
1. The opening line. I'll probably have the first chapter up once I'm finished with my book and gone over my first cursory edits before sending it off to the real editor. But right now, I can definitely share the opening line.
- I was dying. Daniels knew it, and I knew it.
2. The soundtrack. Which I spent way more time on than I should. I made the playlist on Youtube since they had all the songs I wanted, particularly Motion City Soundtrack "Disappear" and People on Planes "Last Man Standing," which were both necessary. (And it is a pretty awesome soundtrack.) You can check out the soundtrack: here.
3. The cover. It's once again by the fabulous Claudia Mckinney at Phatpuppyart.com who did the cover for Hollowland, as well as Virtue.
FYI: I know you can't see really the words above the title. I think I might remove them for the e-version and only use it on the print version. Yep. That's what I think.

Awesome! Hollowland was my first taste of your work!
ReplyDeleteThe cover is amazing! I am so very excited about Hollowmen.
ReplyDeleteI love your covers! Where do you get your images for them?
ReplyDeleteLove the cover. Now, im really excited to read the book.
ReplyDeleteOoooh! I've been waiting for this. I really liked Hallowland. So I'll be buying this one for sure!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the first line and that cover is stunning. Good luck, Amanda.
ReplyDeleteI just love the cover. Claudia Mckinney at Phatpuppyart.com does amazing art. I follow her on deviantart and just love all of her work. Congrats Amanda on another beautiful cover.

Wonderful first line -- that ranks right up there with: "The man in black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed."
ReplyDeleteIs there a link or youtube page link to all the songs? I love the cover and can't wait to read the new book!
ReplyDeleteok...the cover did it. i just had to go back and finally buy hollowland to my kindle. there are few things in life i love more than post apoctalypse fiction.
ReplyDeleteI love it! and I can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteI can't even tell you how excited I am to hear that the sequel is almost ready! Hollowland is my favorite of your books, absolutely loved it, can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThe new cover is gorgeous! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI love the cover. That is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteNice, strong first line as well.
Eeekk! Yay, finally get to see the cover. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm moving Hollowland up on the TBR to get ready! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat cover! I'm loving the songs on the playlist, which makes me what to read it that much more.
ReplyDeleteMan, that's quite a cover -- good to see Amanda found someone with the artistic talent to match her writing talent. That thing just LOOKS like it belongs on a zombie novel.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, looking forward to Hollowmen -- currently reading Hollowland and loving it.
BTW, fans of Amanda's vampire novels should also check out Weaver, by another indie author named John Abramowitz.
First of all, love the look of the title and the image.
ReplyDeleteHowever...
The cover would look really, really tight and professional if your name was bigger, dropped to the bottom, and stretched all the way across. The way it's askew makes the cover read amateur, even though the rest of it isn't.
A fan...
Susan
Awesome cover.
ReplyDeleteAwesome song. (I LOVE FLORENCE!)
Awesome first line.
Can't wait to read it! Best of luck with the rest of your stories. =)
Is it going to be available on Kindle, or just in print?
ReplyDeleteLove the cover, so pretty :) When will come out in the kindle store??
ReplyDeleteThank u so much for the update! Im so excited. I just told my bf that u were coming out w another hollow... I wait to tell him! Awesome cover!
ReplyDeleteAnd your NAME should be bigger ;) Good luck with this one. I'm sure it'll do well.

Loving the cover :) I can't wait to see what happens next!
ReplyDeleteThe cover looks amazing and made me actively search out the first book in the series. Kudos to the cover artist!
ReplyDeleteAmanda! Don't you know better! Never start a book with I!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great, Amanda! I agree with you though. Change the color of the title for the e-book version. And also make it a little bigger so it stands out and is clear. The way it is now, it would be really hard to read in a thumbnail. Other than that, it's really really good!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! And I'd leave the words above the title. Can't wait to read this one. I read Hollowland in like two days, it was so good. :-D
ReplyDeleteWishing you much success.
~Sherry
Check out my books!
It looks like a great read! Will it be on Amazon for Kindle?
ReplyDeleteI have been waiting and waiting for this!
ReplyDeleteI just read Hollowland and was disappointed that I have to wait to read what happens! You are an amazing storyteller and I hope you keep writing books forever!
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait until this book comes out! I devoured Hollowland and love the title Hollowmen...my husband had been trying to get me into zombies since we started dating and Zombieland just about did it, but Hollowland put me over the edge. I'm hooked! This is your best work yet. I really enjoyed the Trylle trilogy and I can't wait until you finish My Blood Approves, but this is by far the best in my opinion. Nothing you write seems too predictable and I read a lot so most everything seems predictable. This is exactly what I needed after getting lost in The Hunger Games and I can't wait for more!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for this book to come out. Think I will reread Hollowland while I am anticipating this sequel. It has been quite a while since I read it and I want to reacquaint myself.
ReplyDeleteCrossing my fingers that nothing delays this one! I have yet to find a piece by you that does not pull me in and hook me so that I cannot put my Nook down (which my husband cannot stand) but oh well, he bought me the Nook so what can he really say! :)
