ZOMG Updates

You guys won't believe it. I've actually updated things on my blog. I had links about pre-ordering Elegy, and that came out like six months ago. It actually just came out in paperback on Tuesday (it was out only in hardcover and ebook before). So yeah, I needed to update stuff.

So here's some stuff that's new:

-FAQs are updated with new questions and expanded answers

-Watersong tabs are updated, with correct links, and Elegy has finally has the awesome trailer up (if you haven't seen it, you really should check it out)

-Hollows Graphic Novel is updated. The entire series is out digitally now, and there's links to get each issue. The ten-part series should be out in paperback form sometime this year, but I don't know exactly when yet. I think soon-ish, though.

-There's a tab for the Kanin Chronicles. I don't have a lot of info under it yet, but there will be more info coming soon. I am super psyched for you guys to check them out.

-Upcoming Projects. It has more on the anthology I contributed a short story to, Grim, which is coming out in a couple weeks. That was a lot of a fun, and lots of amazing authors contributed great stories, so you should definitely check it out when it comes out.

-I even updated the About Me. So that's fun.

I guess those are the big things. It doens't sound that exciting, but it took awhile. Longer than it probably should.

I'm feeling very excited about things. Writing is going well, and I am genuinely very excited to start sharing things about the Kanin Chronicles with you.

And to end things, here's a pic of my dog Isley from when she first met my cat Sophie (Isley is much, much bigger now):

  4. I did love you as an author and I wish I still could but I have always had a hard time with your attitude and responses regarding My blood approves and the Hollowland series'. Some of us were with you in the beginning and we read those series' and fell in love with them. It feels like both have been abandoned and you refuse to speak about them. When you got signed you turned all your focus else were. It's hard as a former youth librarian and current literature teacher to recommend you because my sentences start with check out this author and this series ...oh wait I don't know if she will ever finish it. Oh check out this one...wait that was not finished either. (And I don't like graphic so a complete switch in format does me no good) With all your work out now this might not be a big deal to you but those are the works that hooked all your earliest fans. I also get turned off by the fact that when people inquire (only because they love and are invested in the books) you seem terse and annoyed. I don't know what it's like to be you or a writer but it feels wrong that you constantly move forward with your published books and leave the ones that launched you unfinished.

    1. I do plan on there being a third Hollows book, but as I said in my FAQs, I won't talk about it until it's absolutely about to be published. As I've also talked about with the other Hollows, they're difficult for me to write & are time consuming. That doesn't mean I'm not working on them or don't care. I have also explained to the best of my ability why I have not written the last MBA book. It's because I care about the readers & the books that I haven't rushed & threw out slapdash jobs of books just to put them out. I refuse to write a book I hate, because it's not fair to the book, the characters, and most importantly the readers. And unfortunately, at this moment, the only connection I feel to the book is frustration and anger. I've explained the reasons as best I can in previous blogs, and there are links to them in my FAQs. I'm sorry that the book isn't out now. I'm sorry I've let you down. But this is honestly the best I can do for the books at this time. And just because I'm not talking about things doesn't mean I'm not working on them. (I talked about that in a blog called "Ideas vs. Things") The only books I do talk about before their published are the ones that have been announced by my publisher, because they have already been announced. That by know means makes them the only projects I'm working on, though. I just don't want to talk about thing prior to their publication because I don't want to let people down, the way I already have.

  8. Hi Amanda, your blog is fantastic! I found about it through Kindle Direct Publishing, because I have just this week published my first novel on there and your name came up as an author to check out. So I checked out your author profile, and that led to your blog. Your work is an inspiration and I am going to 'follow' your blog (I have a blog too, but it's a blog for my paintings because I paint as well as writing). All best wishes from Fiona

  9. Your honesty I found rare in most writers and I am publishing several self help books in the alcoholism and drug addiction field. You gave me so many ideas and inspiring knowhow on what to expect. Your honesty about your writing and your life and your emotions has been not only helpful they have been refreshing.
